Troops
serving in Iraq appear to be top users of Internet military loans according
to data obtained through Google Trends. Iraq is listed as the top
region in the world for the search term "military loans,"
indicating some US troops serving in the region are experiencing financial difficulties. South
Korea, home to a large contingent of US forces, is second,
followed by the United States and Germany (which also has a large
number of US military bases).
Killeen, Texas,
home of the US Army's Fort Hood, is the top city for the search
term "military loans." In fact, three of the top ten
cities are
in Texas, including Killeen, Waco (near Killeen), and El Paso
(Fort Bliss). Norfolk, Virginia, home of the Norfolk Naval Base -
the largest naval base in the world, is ninth. |
